Challenge

For my final project with UX Content Collective, I worked on editing screens for a fictional payments and project management app called Handshake.
The fictional scenario: A Handshake designer has sent over a Figma file with screens mocked up for Handshake. My task was to make edits to the text and share the file back to the designer ahead of a design review with other stakeholders. The goal was to improve the text to get it ready for this review rather than make big changes to the design.
Additionally, I was tasked with creating a mini style guide to lay out content principles, voice and tone characteristics, and style rules.

About Handshake

Handshake is a fictional payments and project management app designed for both Freelancers and Business Owners. The app is split into two interfaces, one for Freelancers and one for Business Owners.
  • Freelancers (primary users) use Handshake to invoice Business Owners and report progress.
    • Handshake collects a 1% fee whenever a Freelancer gets paid.
  • Business Owners (secondary users) use Handshake to pay Freelancers and track progress.

I worked with two user personas for this project: Freelancer Kelly Chan and Business Owner Tom Stewart.
